While getting a sales rep seems like the answer to any fashion designer’s prayers, things don’t always work out that way. I should say, the rarely work out that way.
This is why I recommend that EVERY designer learns how to sell their product themselves. You must get comfortable selling your line and it is a learn-able skill – like playing piano, or learning tennis. I’m not saying it’s easy – at least not in the beginning. But it is necessary.
