Do 8 out of 10 fashion lines go out of business? Why IS that? Well, lots and lots of reasons. Too many to list here!
In my experience, there is one big thing successful designers have in common. Don’t be fooled by the simplicity of what I tell you in the video. Sometimes the simple things are the most profound.

Hi,
I found your blog through doing some research in fashion design. I am a recent college graduate with a bachelors in psychology and have been contemplating about going into fashion design. It has been something I have always wanted to do. Recently I have been thinking of applying to FIT’s AAS program. I was wondering if you could give me any general advice or words of caution. My mother thinks that it isn’t a good idea because of job security, would you know what other career paths is possible for someone with a AAS in Fashion Design? Ideally I want to be an independent fashion designer, but I always tell myself that it is unlikely because I come from a lower-middle class family with no real means of financial support. Any insight of advice would be greatly appreciated! Hope to hear from you soon.
