Turn Off Your Phone

When was the last time you fully unplugged? This weekend I challenge you to turn off your phone. Maybe for a whole day, maybe for five hours, maybe for three days.

As business owners, we’re tied to our phones watching for sales, customer emails, and Facebook comments. Every time we get a notification it’s a small dopamine hit to the brain signaling pleasure or significance. And those dopamine hits can become very addicting.

Psychology Today reports that we spend an average of 11 hours per day on our phones. That’s longer than an eight hour work day.

Listen to this week’s episode to learn more about why we need to turn our phones off more often.

How much time are you spending on your phone? Comment below to let us know how long you are going to turn off your phone this weekend.
